Community Culture – Saigon Morning Walk

Touch the culture, taste the soul: wooden clogs, ao dai, coffee and banh xeo.

Overview:

Designed as a private or small-group morning journey, this tour invites Korean guests to step gently into everyday Saigon life: visiting artisans, tasting morning street flavours, and discovering how traditional crafts still live inside a modern city.

Key details:

  • Duration: 08:00 – 12:00
  • Ideal group size: 2–6 guests
  • Vehicle: Premium MPV or van (Hyundai Staria / Palisade or similar)
  • Language: Korean-speaking interpreter

Itinerary (summary):

  1. Tea & Banh Mi by Tan Dinh Church (08:00 – 08:25)
Private pick-up from your District 1 hotel → short drive to the pink Tan Dinh Church area. Enjoy Dalat artichoke tea and a Vietnamese baguette breakfast as the city wakes up.
  2. Tan Dinh Market – Wooden Clogs Craft (08:25 – 09:00)
Visit a traditional wooden clogs stall inside Tan Dinh Market. Watch artisans shaping, polishing and decorating clogs, then personalise your own pair with painted motifs, fabric flowers or your name in Roman or Hangul letters.
  3. Ao Dai Hanh – Same-day Tailoring (09:05 – 09:40)
Move to Ao Dai Hanh, a renowned boutique for made-to-measure ao dai. Select fabric and colour, and have your measurements taken for a design that can be ready later in your trip. Discreet name embroidery on the cuff or collar adds a personal touch.
  4. Grandmum Cafe – Coffee Ritual (09:50 – 10:25)
At Grandmum Cafe, a nostalgic Saigon-style coffee house, a barista prepares phin coffee at your table while sharing stories about Vietnam’s coffee culture. You taste both black iced coffee and “ca phe sua đa”, and receive a small postcard to keep.
  5. Dinh Cong Trang – Banh Xeo & Southern Flavours (10:40 – 11:50)
Continue to the famous banh xeo alley in District 1. Watch chefs pour and flip sizzling rice pancakes, try your hand at making one if you wish, then enjoy a light Southern lunch of banh xeo, herbs and side dishes.
  6. Thoughtful Farewell Gift (11:50 – 12:00)
Return transfer to your hotel. Each guest receives a small personalized keepsake – such as an embroidered scarf, coffee art or a luggage tag inspired by Vietnamese motifs – prepared in advance for your group.

Inclusions:

  • Private vehicle and chauffeur
  • Korean-speaking interpreter
  • Breakfast (tea & banh mi), coffee tasting, light lunch
